Thanks.
And because the manual is not clear;
If no demand for central heating from the thermostat when water and heating mode is selected on the dial, should I expect status 0 when the boiler is idling in this way? Instead of the permanent status c?
I took the batteries out of the thermostats and the boiler stays stuck on C so I assume failed valve where it is. I’ll get an engineer
Many thanks for both your help
Can’t see any valves at all, none here either. not sure now where else to look! Either way I think to change a valve which is stuck or motor broken will need a plumber I assume
Ah I see I understand the question now. No radiators heat up. They’re cold as I would expect/ hope. They only warm up when the thermostat clicks on either automatically or manually.
About that cable. It comes from the boiler isolation switch. And two grey cables come out the top and go into...
I confirm radiators on both floors come on successfully when turned on through the thermostat.
Makes sense it is maybe broken capable as everything works ok otherwise.
I can’t see any valves at all around the boiler. Top and bottom of boiler there’s nothing. Nothing that looks like a...
Two themostats (see pic above). This pic is under the boiler. It definitely looks like boiler thinks heating is called for when it isn’t as everything otherwise works fine.
We have top floor heating with one control panel and bottom floor with a separate panel. Two of these. All normal rads which work fine. No underfloor heating.
Yes. That is accurate. The boiler is always status c (even with the central heating Honeywell panel all set to off) and can hear the gentle whirring on the boiler all the time.
It is as if the boiler thinks central heating is calling for water all the time.
Ideal ES38 Boiler
I have status C (no burner light) even when no central heating is called for. Pressure is ok at 1.1 bar. I’m 99% sure it would normally be status 0 when nothing is called for as per the manual (and my memory)
Another post here for a similar issue someone suggested maybe a...
