Thanks! So to clarify the cables 3 and 4 i have joined by block can remain? The earth can go to the left of cable 1 on the pic?

I have the hive receiver in hand - is it as easy as it looks to just wire in N,L,3,4 or is there something else i should know please?

After removing the failed Salus BC600RX receiver from an Alpha Intec 28XE combi I require a recomendation for a solution to control it please. I see Nest or Hive but really happy to hear what you would recommend. I really really really disliked the Salus RT501RF(TX). Be nice to have something...

All done and heating works fine :) I guess i can just now remove the live/earth from the Salus BC600RX and leave them? Thanks

Or could i be a total cheapskate and look for a used Salus receiver if this is what has failed?

'connecting together the wires in terminals 3 and 4 of the receiver.' is this essential to testing the receiver or can we just get rid? The only point is that i want to know that 100% the boiler has no issues - the water heating is totally fine.

I have tried the switch in both positions but makes no difference and tbh im not sure which position it was always in! Randomly the heating did come on last week and we put it back into summer mode as it was just blasting on but it wont switch back on on command.

A little bit more info... the end goal is to establish that the heating aspect still works which im 99% sure it does and then to replace the receiver and commander unit with something that works! Currently have the horrible Salus RT501RF (TX) and would like to replace with something like a Hive...
