    Cooker hood switches

Hi, I have an AEG HC 5690 3360 cooker hood. There is an intertermittent problem whereby the fan-speed selection switches will not latch. I suspect over the years (6) they have become a bit greased up and plan to replace them if I could find a way to get them out of the cooker hood. I can get to...

    Sottini Flush

I have a Sottini dual flush cistern. Intermittently there is a very slight weep into the pan, similar to water coming down the overflow but not as pronounced, and the water level is below the top of the overflow, almost as if the push button is holding the flush slightly open at times. Can this...

    Artex

I was speaking to someone who have damaged "artex" due to a leak and the insurance company wanted to check for asbestos. I said I was using asbestoes-free Artex about 25 years ago, and the house in question is only 9 yrs old. Any answers.

    Timeswitch or Boiler problem

Aside from the timing problem, why does the CH come on even though it's selected to off. If the water get's hot enough does the motorised valve swing over to the CH circuit, or does it circulate around a small auxiliary cct. If all radiators are shut off, by my understanding the water shouldn't...

    boiler or timeswitch

Sorry meant to add that boiler goes of completely power light as well. If it was just upto temp it would just knock the burner off, which it does.

    Timeswitch or Boiler problem

The timeswitch is capable of 3 On/Off settings, the water is set to come on and go off once a day on the timed setting, the CH is in the off position.

    Timeswitch or Boiler problem

Hi, had a new boiler fitted over a year ago and no real problems. In last week, despite setting for hot water only 07:00-09:00, been going off at 08:00. Boiler shuts down completely, with even the power light going off, despite the indicator on the timeswitch (non-integral), being illuminated as...

    Screeding floor

Hi, considering just carpeting over a wooden suspended floor, but the floor isn't level. Can it just be screeded without then any plywood. ie with just a carpet over it, and minor depression of floor when walking across it, will the screed break up, or is there a product that won't? any help...

    toilet vent pipe

Depending on the system you could use an Air Inlet Valve, commonly known as a Drago Valve which allows normal flushing without the normal vent pipework. I'd still prefer the normal setup.

    Removing floor screed/Adhesive

I'm replacing kitchen floor, have removed old tiles but they were laid on screed the previous time. It's like concrete and hitting it with a lump hammer and bolster is doing the wifes hands no good at all! Any suggestions for softening it up?

    wall mounted wc leak

Do you mean a permanent trickle into the pan, if so I had this. The flush arrangement is a bayonet fitting, disconnect the rubber hose, twist the assembly and it should come out. On the side there is a slider which allows the pressure onto the rubber seal in the cistern to be varied. Trial and...
