    RCD suddenly Tripping

Agreed, but even with every MCB off on CU#1, plugging any appliance into a socket served directly by the CU#2 tripped the RCD on CU#1 which just added to the confusion. Seems the electrician that installed CU#2 didn’t do everything by the book which is disappointing.

    RCD suddenly Tripping

Update: turns out it was wiring arcing in a bedroom socket causing the issues. Seems to be sorted now but took hours to locate, even with all the MCB’s off in that CU the RCD was still tripping. Thanks for all help & advice offered, much appreciated

    RCD suddenly Tripping

So with every MCB in the off position and sockets unplugged the RCD still trips on its own. I’m thinking it may be an issue connected to the other board in the extension although everything looks ok on that board with no visible issues ie everything is as it should be and powers to all those areas).

I’m thinking it may be Xmas lights-related so have unplugged that and still tripping out. I have an electrician calling this evening and purchased an...

    RCD suddenly Tripping

One of the RCD’s suddenly tripped tonight as I was heading to bed. Literally turned off the TV and noticed the alarm fault light was on. Initially looked like one circuit but after unplugging everything, testing and re-testing the RCD is tripping randomly on other circuits too. Would this point...

I removed the skirting and tiled down to floor level.Really neat job plus there's no place for dust/dirt to gather now.

    wood laminate flooring

Use the damp proof membrane - it comes with 90% of laminate flooring anyway. Although your floor may not contain moisture at present - it will protect the floor in future aswell as making it more comfortable to walk on. Just be careful not to overlap the strips of membrane under the floor.
