Do building regs require that trickle vents are to be fitted on new replacement upvc windows? We have got quotes from 2 local window companies and conflicting advice.

It's just standard 3/4" overflow. Don't know why they just didn't put 2 overflows out, the holes were already in the fascia board.

Can the cold water cistern and F&E cistern share the same overflow, ie f&e teeing into cold water overflow. I'm pretty sure they shouldn't but my mothers local housing authority say it's just fine.

I take it's the overheat stat thats on the bottom of the boiler?, would the actuator failing not cause the overheat stat to cut in, especially if it failed opening or closing causing a restriction.

Just managed to light it on hot water I think it may be the actuator on 3 port valve as it seems pretty hot and switched manually to heating. Does that seem viable.

If you mean the little switch below the boiler stat, yes it has but still not working.

The blighter has been working this afternoon but now wont light, Thermostat asking for heat but nothing, no starting cycles just seems dead. Any ideas chaps.

Get heat team out they will have the spares on the van and I suspect you will need a new PCB which cost about £170. You also get a years cover on the boiler as well cos I had to call them out again for when the gas valve failed so I had my moneys worth.

Wayne, why dont you put the cold feed and vent pipes into the spare tappings on your boiler cos they will be free when you fully pump the system. Just like I told you :wink: George

It will be compared to my trusty Record handibender, as i say ok for occasional use but I would not like to use it all day every day.

It will do for occasional use but it will be heavy.

My sky installer used coach screws and gray plugs and the dish is still on the wall after 7 years.
