Need advice on hinges and how to prevent binding

Would something like this work? 170 degree hinge. The clearance looks like it would fit. and the concealing strip wood can be on either door or 'wall' HERE is a video in action - I would obviously try and find one that's a bit higher quality Or a parallel opening Hinge - like this.

Gosh! I could probably build that. I'd need to make sure it was strong enough. These are largish doors. The stripwood could be attached to the door side. Still hoping for an off the shelf solution though.

Even it it's fully inset? Is there no hinge that would pull it out from the strip overlap. It needs only to be a couple of mm to hide the join.

Need advice on hinges and how to prevent binding

Hi all, So, I've decided to put a cupboard door under the stairs and reclad the walls/studs. I've used 12mm ply and I'm going to cover it with 21x4mm D stripwood à la baton wall. I had to use 12mm ply otherwise it would be thicker than the edge of the stairs with the stripwood. Anyway - I need...

Need to fix mounting point/hook through plasterboarded steel beam

Eek... Drilling through and using a nut to secure a longish insert nut might be the best. If such a thing exists. I'll hunt for heavy duty eye bolts. I can hide the bad engineering with a bit of plasterboard so I'm not too worried about that bit. Just have to see if my drill is up to the job. Cheers

Need to fix mounting point/hook through plasterboarded steel beam

Not really, I want to remove the eye bolt or whatever when I'm not using it. These look permanent. Something like an insert nut but heavy duty that will work through a steel beam. https://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails-fixings/insert-nuts/cat7280108

Need to fix mounting point/hook through plasterboarded steel beam

Hi, I want to install a hook or mounting point for a heavy punch bag and some other kit. I have a small house so it'll be a temporary thing in the living room. I want to be able to have a heavy weight hook or ring on a bolt that I can unscrew when I'm done with it. This will be screwed through...

Replacement Parts for Trojan Patriot Flag Hinge

Sort of defeats the purpose buying a whole hinge just for the parts. Oh well looks like I'll have to get new ones anyway. I suspected as much... Thanks

Replacement Parts for Trojan Patriot Flag Hinge

Hi Guys, Just wondering if I can buy the bits for a Trojan Patriot Flag hinge. Specifically the screw plate. The fitters used power tools to adjust the door position and have snapped the original plate on a couple, plus also stripped a couple of the allen bolts (although im sure they are...

Machine Screw size for Mila Pro Secure door handle

Hi, I have a mila prosecure door handle in brushed satin colour. I'm moving it to a different door and the screws supplied are too short so I need 2x 70mm or greater. Mila are no help they simply refer me to their partners who then say that they don't stock extra screws, Mila won't even tell me...

Want to insulate under rafters with Multifoil - no membrane under tiles...

Well its the rafters that I'm chiefly worried about, as there is no breathable membrane between loft space and tiles - I get the idea that the loft space becomes a sealed water tight box - however most of the suppliers have or claim breathability of their foils. Hmm - some of the manufacturers...

Want to insulate under rafters with Multifoil - no membrane under tiles...

I am aware of that - but it will then become a 'Warm Loft', which should be fine. Ill be passively heating a loft space but that heat won't be lost. Jacking up the boards is not really an option - I'd need to do the entire loft. FYI I can use the multifoil over the joists to remove the...
