    Tiny cracks

I don’t want to paper it. It will cost me me just as much to get someone in to paper it as it will plaster it. I’m asking if there is some kind of paint on solution I can do myself

    Tiny cracks

Yes I know this may be the case, but I’m not looking to have it plastered if I can avoid it. Is there not a roll on base coat that will bond and hide the cracks?

    Tiny cracks

Hi all So I’ve stripped some lining paper and the plaster underneath is actually quite flat but has lots of tiny cracks everywhere. It’s an old rental that I’m selling so would rather not get it plastered. Is there any other way round this? Too many too open up and fill

New plaster - sealer, mist coat or both?

Hi, are must coats still the way foward or is there a reliable sealer out there I painted a ceiling in my new extension last year and mist coated as usual …. I can see every joist (flat roof) and have never been able to rectify. I wonder if this was because of suction and sealer would have...

Re skim over day old plaster?

I had to sand it down in the end before having another go. It came out worse than I thought What are these patches when I’m sanding? What did I do wrong

Re skim over day old plaster?

Ok, it’s probably not as bad as I thought then as there are just as many discrepancies in the other walls which is just the state of our timber over here I guess. Nothing can be done about that

Re skim over day old plaster?

It was on to plasterboard so def think it could have just been a better job done by myself. Surely if you put on thick enough though, you can small discrepancies flat

Re skim over day old plaster?

Evening, no all is appreciated still. I’ve not gone back over it yet. I don’t think I did too bad but if I put a straight edge across it (all different ways) Then is a bit wavy, as in not dead flat and rocking in the level struggled to get consistent flatness I can and was applying it at...

Re skim over day old plaster?

The ceiling is low, I can reach it. I didn’t get my timings right and is room for improvements but honestly I’ve had worse “professional” plasterers I’m not totally new to it, I’m pretty much a multi trader. I knew I could get it on the wall. Few months practicing and hopefully I will improve...

Re skim over day old plaster?

I attached a photo to one of my messages. It’s quite smooth, possibly a light sand but when I put a level vertically and horizontally it’s not dead flat (ie. Small gaps in the level, slight bumps) it’s the same on a wall I had a professional plasterer do so I guess there will be some...
