Thanks for that peekay. I was intending to fit ballofix valves to the upstairs taps in the next week or two so that I can remove the basin to tile behind it. I'll let you know how I get on.

All 3 pairs are on rigid pipes.

It's a system bolier with an unvented hot water cylinder. We have high water pressure. I remember the name of the taps - Plumbsure Crystal. They're not quarter turn taps.
