    You would think so but no instructions with regards to the plate, only wiring instructions. After all that the socket didnt fit into the cage. The transformer is too bulky.

    Phoned an in-law of an in-law who has been a painter and decorator for 40 years and he said just go over it with a white matt. Done that and it looks fine. Giving another coat of white matt tonight before I go near it with a colour.

    Thanks for that. The loft access is very limited and wouldnt be ideal to get long or wide pieces of plasterboard through. So I suspect the guy will go with the masonary breezeblock which as far as I am aware the breezeblocks are inexspensive. Would you expect me to be paying more than £300?
