Thank you - two heating engineers are coming tomorrow. I think the main problem will be the flue goes into the loft and comes out on the roof, and one of them said he would need to hire a scaffold to get on the roof to check the flue!

Along time ago I posted on here about my Vokera combi boiler only firing up the hot water when the central heating was on. I put up with this all Winter as I was using the heating anyway, but now it is warmer I got British Gas round again, but although it works temporarily when they are there...

Just to let you know - British Gas came back and the engineer this time found a connection that had not been recoonected - I do not know to what - he said that would fix it. The result is that for the first time in a year the hot water in the shower is maintaining temperature and not cycling...

I am in Wimbledon. I have called British Gas to come back this afternoon. I just thought someone on this site might have a few ideas that I could put to the British Gas Engineer in case they just say it is old and there is nothing more they can do.

It is a Vokera 20-80 RS flowmatic.

I will, I am just building up to taking another half day off to sit in and wait for them - whenever anything goes wrong with the boiler it always seems to take about 3 visits to sort it out
