New Tank coming - possible sludge in system - what to do?

The tank is being replaced under my Homecare contract. As the Flowmax design has changed slightly I think the pipe work in the cupboard will need to be replaced anyway. What are BG likely to recommend / try to sell me and what do I actually need? Thanks.

New Tank coming - possible sludge in system - what to do?

Hi, Following on from my previous question concerning fitting a magnetic filter of some kind I have actually tried a magnet on a few of the copper pipes and it is attracted in places so I'm a bit more concerned now. Our system is a gas boiler heating a Flowmax thermal store which is then...

Can / Will British Gas Engineer fit a self supplied item

Don't think we have a sludge problem but the system has been running for 20 years with it only having been drained once in that time to fit some more radiators. With a brand new tank going in I thought it might be worth fitting a Magnabooster now or should we just wait until the boiler...

Can / Will British Gas Engineer fit a self supplied item

No, I realise that BG must get them cheaper than I can get one simply from the number they must purchase. It just seems wrong to not get one fitted whilst the systems is drained down. To re-fill it with all the chemicals then a week later drain it again only to re-fill it doesn't feel right...

Can / Will British Gas Engineer fit a self supplied item

How do I go about getting a quote for these items. If I have to wait for the engineer to return then it will be too late to source the items myself. Keep thinking the best option might be to fit the filter to the pipe myself now (as the system has already been drained). When they replace...

Can / Will British Gas Engineer fit a self supplied item

After hours / weekend sort of misses the opportunity as the system is curently drained and I believe he is likely to actually have to move or replace the pipe that the filter would go on as part of the homecare work. Looks to me like it should take 10-15 minutes to fit whilst doing everything...

Can / Will British Gas Engineer fit a self supplied item

Hi, I'm having some work done on my system under my Homecare agreement. I was thinking of maybe having a Magnabooster / Magnaclean and a hydroflow installed yet the prices BG charge do appear quite high. If I was to supply these items myself would the BG engineer be able to fit them? The...
