Thank you.
It does have concrete around the entrance.
When you get to as far down as you can see in the pipe, it turns back on itself and there it’s rock solid. Anglian had a Quick Look and it was full of mud and sand so they just ignored it.
Hi. We had a sewer blockage last week that Anglian took 4 hours to remove. They thought they were hitting turns in the pipes when it was just solids which we now know could be sand and mud along with sewage. Next door have the manhole, 20 metres away we have an inspection chamber. It is a...
Thanks Ronnie.
At our old house we had a lever/pad and when you lifted the handle inside to lock the multipoint up, the handle outside couldn't go down to open those multipoint.
Both require the key to get in but it would be harder for someone to break in if the multipoints would stay locked...
When we moved in a few years ago we inherited our front door which is modern and fensa registered so we do not want to change it but the door locking mechanism irks me. Our old house had a lever/pad so you could not undo the multipoint locks outside.
I have never had a door handle off - DIY...
Thank you woody
Def helps me out a lot in being able to show any potential builders. The membrane I think is what I was seeing. Didn’t see a Vapoue check but they never cut back the whole plasterboarded area just a 6 inch section at the cavity so never got to see that far around.
I really...
The vapour membrane was between the tf and the pir but it didn’t come out over the edge of the frame.
Want to get this right in my head before employing someone else to do this right so I appreciate all the comments.
Think I need to start trying to find a builder locally who understands...
Thank you. That is what it looks like inside ours and they did do a vertical dpm between the insulation and the masonry.
I’m worried the pir will sweat and rot the timber frame?
The pir only went down to an inch above the skirting board so expect we’re going to get cold bridging there.
It’s just so wrong. Fensa will certify it meets regs because he says it does when how can it??
I’m petrified that the cellotex is gonna sweat against our timber frame and start to rot it.
The whole reason we got them in was to fix cold bridging and now we have a far colder areas around both...
Yep there is no insulation down there at all.
We asked him to remove it and do a cavity closer but he tried and couldn’t do it so said this was our only option.
Concerns are cold getting in
Heat getting out
Timber frame getting wet
The doors are further back now that they were. They had to angle grind out our concrete floor base and cut back our carpet. Doors on before these were flush to the outside.
They did put some dpc over this but. Thing else until they drilled the plasterboard into the timber frame and plastered...
Is it another builder I need to redo this and what do I ask for to ensure it’s done right?
I asked have you worked on timber frames?
Are you fensa registered?
He runs the company he’s almost retired in his 70s and been in business since his 20s.
It’s a complete mess and he’s insistent it’s correct. It’s freezing in here and I’m scared the insulation is going to sweat and rot the timber frame.
