Relacing Faulty Salus rt300rf Wireless Thermostat

Sorry not to reply sooner. I should in my originall post mentioned that the "fault" was the thermostat was switching off the c/h before the set temp was reached, a lengthy session with Salus Support indicated a faulty unit. But I was not to sure, so I carried out the following checks...

Relacing Faulty Salus rt300rf Wireless Thermostat

There is a COM, but is only used when the unit is configured as Volt Free, if Volt Free a Link must be removed, the unit is configured as 230v which is the default, and has been wired as such. As the unit has worked fine for 4 years.

The thermostat (receiver) on my RT300RF is faulty, I can get a same for same replacement so I thought, locally. However when comparing the wiring diagrams on Salus web page, the latest model appears different, what I need to know is the equivalent wiring on the newer model compared to the...

    Replacing Bath Taps (Monobloc type)

Am I getting confused, the existing bath taps consist of a hot tap -cold tap-and shower connector between the 2 in a complete unit. I thought this was a monobloc, but stand corrected.

    Replacing Bath Taps (Monobloc type)

I intend to replace the bath mixer monobloc (passed its SBD). Having taken the bath panel off to see what I letting myself in for before attempting, getting at the connectors under the bath appears nigh on impossible, the clearances are minute, requiring a midget with a long arm to get at...

    Replacing Bath Shower mixer tap

Thanks for info, the 22mm Hot supply is gravity fed, and the cold supply is 15mm direct from mains supply. the pressure from the hot gravity is pretty good, it comes out of the tap with a good head of steam, and from the cold an even greater rate of knots, fills the bath within 3-4 mins, unlike...

    Replacing Bath Shower mixer tap

In the next couple of weeks I will be replacing the existing Bath/Shwer Mixer Tap. Have spent a bit of time looking at the fitting of the existing mixer. A couple of questions I need answers to. 1. The existing connections show 22mm supply pipe to the hote water tap, but 15mm to the cold...

Ideal Standard WRS40 What Kind of Boiler Replacement

My good old boiler the Ideal Standard is now 30 years old, and has been so reliable I am loth to replace it, but with the high energy costs it may be time to replace it. Having looked at the alternatives I think a Condensing Boiler is my route to go. I want to retain my existing hot water...

    Screwfix latest Catalogue on RCD's

Thanks for reply, it makes sense now that only New Installations req RCD at sockets, although the screwfix cat made no distiction between new and older properties.

    Screwfix latest Catalogue on RCD's

I shouild have said that I have the older type of fuse box, 4 fuses covering Immersion-Cooker-Lights-Ring, dont have RCD, I trust plugging in an RCD into sockets would suffice, althogh it seems extreme.

Fishy smell from shower switch. Advice needed!!!!

I had the same problem, it would come and go, after many months tracked it down to the fact that a light bulb was just touching the white plastic bulb holder, just moved the bulb away from the holder and never had a sniff since.

    Screwfix latest Catalogue on RCD's

Browsing thru Screwfix latest tome, came across the comment on Part P and the requirement that EVERY socket in the house must be protected by an RCD, so does that mean I have to go out and buy 15-20 RCD.s. Or is this Screwfix employing a very clever sales pitch. Wish I had shares in RCD...
