    Angled valve

Hi, I've got to replace some angled lockshield valves that are leaking. The valves are straight but the heads come off at an angle a bit like a Y, if you know what I mean. Any idea what these are called. cheers

    Rustproof Boiler

I've just cleaned the soot out of my boiler (baffles etc) and the manual suggest I wash baffles and internal casing with rust proofing. Any idea what I can use? All the things I would normally use to rustproof are oil based and would be burned off during the first firing as well as stink the...

    Floor Boards

Hi, I've noticed on new floor boards stocked in B & Q, Wickes etc have two cuts the whole length of the board (like tramlines) on what would be the back of the board. Any idea what the idea of this is? I was going to use boards to make a door but can't due to these lines. :( cheers...

    Softboard

When I was a boy you could buy sheets of softboard. It was a fibre type board that was handy for notice boards and the like as it was easy to get a drawing pin in. Seems the nearest I can get now is mdf, not quite the same. Anyone know where I can get some? Thanks in advance Charlie

    Pump position

I noticed the conflict between J.Mac and other diagrams but chose to go the J.Mac way! Well I've just changed it and after 10minutes I peered into the tank and can still see hot water swirling in from the feed pipe. Doesn't appear much and have reduced the level to see if the water is rising...

    PIR Light

150w - and you're right the instructions doesn't mention this. A customer wants to be able to have a normal pir controlled light but be able to switch it when he goes away so it comes on after dark. Not sure if the photocell overrides the pir. charlie

    Oil Boiler

Just moved into an old farmhouse and need some advice. The oil boiler is a little antiquated, as is the system, which is tubed in plastic pipe due to the acidity of the private water supply. Appears that it is a gravity system with pumped c/h with primary flow and return coming off...
