I used 4 x 30 mm TX screws with no pilot holes. My roof did not collapse.
For the record, apologizing is not a sign of weakness but rather one of strength.

I'm putting an 18 mm chipboard loft deck on xl loft legs using 4 x 30 mm TX screws.
Do I need pilot holes? In my head the joists will split and my roof will collapse.
So I built a shed 150 mm away from my boiler flue termination. It is about 200 mm shy of the roof line. Does this contravene the building regulations?
I have looked into a plume displacement kit but would need to replace the flue as well, as I have the standard not telescopic Baxi flue kit...
