I have a Ravenheat boiler works ok on the HW Ch started the stop start scenario, something I'm sure is purpose built into Ravenheat boilers! Turning on the hot water for 10min cured the problem for a few weeks and it progressivly got worse. Now turning on the HW does not correct the firing up...

check if the DPC is above ground level preferably 150mm

You should not use a strong mix to go between natural stone flags as this can do more harm than good when the frost comes. Mix cement lime sand ratio1: 2:9 and brush the mixture dry, into the joints. Gordon

Almost all timber available at timber merchants is tannalized now, especially for joists, this will prevent infestation in the future.

hI I have a Ravenheat condensing fanned combi boiler CCSI 85. Last year when the hot water was turned on the boiler fired up for a minute then stopped and fired up again, so the water was coming hot - cold - hot. I lowered the hot water control a bit and hey presto I haven't had any problems...
