I had a similar problem with boiler and found it to be a break in an ECO lead, the one that leads from overheat stat to back of valve. I t would work now and again. I tested all leads and found this to be the fault. Cost hardly anything compared to changing gas valve.
I find that gas men I...
Hi Bob,
Thanks for all your helpful information. I took what you said onboard and decided to test the ECO Leads for continuity. there was a problem with the lead from over heat thermostat to back of gas valve. I replaced it and all is well again.
Thanks again for your help, your a great...
the pilot flame picture is good when lit and was sure not to over thighten. once the pilot goes out after button is depressed I hear a click in the valve abot 40 seconds after. Does this shown that the thermocouple has done it's job of shutting valve? I'm thinking it must be the flame safety...
Is it where the eco lead screws into the back of gas valve? does that end get energised and pulls on the magnet? Can the flame safety magnet be unscrew from gas valve and replaced or does the whole valve need replacing?
Thanks for your help Bob, your a mine of usefull information.
Cheers mate, I thought that part was the solenoid operator? if that is the problem, FSM will the gas valve need changing?
BTW do they have much call for central heating in Cuba? :D
yeah, i see your point :D I probably will end up getting it replaced for a modern auto start. But just to statisfy me can you tell me where it is? Please
I bypassed it as one would for a gravity flow system. there is a extra spade clip on the eco interrupter lead from the thermocouple for this very reason. I have since reconected the eco interrupter lead from the gas valve so they are going through the overheat thermostat.
thanks for your...
