    ICOS HE24 / Megaflo / Horstman H37XL - upstairs zone

I cannot (with regret) give you a circuit only the generic one that is supplied with the boiler. However, you have sparked off a train of thought. In the zone valve (which moves) are you suggesting there is another switch that sends a "fire up now" signal to the boiler ? I might look here...

    ICOS HE24 / Megaflo / Horstman H37XL - upstairs zone

I have checked the FAQ and scoured the forum.. hope you can help ? Everything listed above works fine - 95% of the time. The system is well maintained, full of all the right inhobitors etc etc... EXCEPT, the upstairs heating doesn't work on it's own. 1) HW is fine 2) Downstairs heating is...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Hmm interesting point. I must confess that I had thought that the NHBC were less concerned with looks and more interested in function. It could be argued that messy brickwork aside, the house will not fall down - hence not an issue for them. In any case, I think the honourable thing to...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Thanks for the update - it's as I thought. As of a few days ago, the standing instruction was to re-point as required to match the mortar. OK, It's only the looks, but as you can see, it does really make the work look sub-standard. Appreciate all the feedback on this post

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Happy to post pictures, but would you like to see images of the house before, we realised they had positioned the front door incorrectly by 1m (and had to demolish and reposition) .... or after when they had rectified ? Just to be clear on a few matters:- 1) They started building in June...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Well, the bit that really gets me is that someone stands back and says "Yup - good job, I'll put my coat on and go home now.." Also, the NHBC have inspected many times and although they have specific (published) technical documentation associated with brickwork, blockwork and finishing, they...

Creaking Floor - new build - really getting up my snout !

Thanks for the replies - for some reason, I missed it. The reason I ask about the underlay, is that in B&Q there are some soft woodchip like materials claimed to alleviate floors being out of level by as much as 3mm. - sounds good to me However, the underlay that I can see is green and...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Believe me... I dare not show you the shots I took of the house as it was being built. It transpires that the builder has certain gangs that they use. for the first lift (is that the right terminology ?) they used a gang they had never used before from the local area. However, I went loopy at...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

Will it "settle" with time or am I being played like a kipper ? I suggested to the site Mgr that I could bet a months ££ that it wouldn't settle in 10years with that difference... Am I being too -ve ?

Creaking Floor - new build - really getting up my snout !

Have a problem with new house. It has a concrete floor and I had an engineered wooden floor laid:- Kars Classic Oak, 14 mm engineered, Gold Delux Underlay, 100 gauge poly DMP. The floor looks fantastic but it creaks like I cannot believe ! "They all do that sir" came the reply along...

    New house, mis-matched mortar everywhere

I've just moved into a new home from a "very reputable" builder who builds IRO 130 houses per year - max. However on my property, apart from accidently fitting the entire front door 1m off centre (and then re-fitting later.. :( ) I have noticed that the mortar is completely different colours...

Just moved into a new house with Hetrae Sadia MegaFlow, Zoned Heating and a pair of Honeywell (Branded ROBUS) room stat's The problem At or near the switching temperature, the stat's often start buzzing and the light on the front flickers at very high frequency. This causes noisy...
