Insert to new piece of white pipe are same brand with the double o rings on them. But seemed to fit fully into the existing older grey fitting like in pic. This should be a sound fitting?

Is it ok to use this connection as a temorory fix as the grey pipe connection is in a difficult part of the wall to replace. Thanks

Could I depressurise by undoing both nuts on old valves and let water trickle into a bucket. Would I be losing much water in the system by doing this?
