    Defrost freezer with paint stripper

No problem for refrigerant for the temperature you'll get it, but if you don't distort the sides/top in some way i'll eat my hat!! Another way if you can't get it outside is with a clean garden sprayer with hot water and plenty of towels, when defrosting frost free I would use this method...

    Defrost freezer with paint stripper

Did our 2 freezers this week, took 40mins to do, took both outside and being careful with any electrical switches, lamps etc. use the garden hose to spray water, will defrost in 10/15 mins washed out as well. On mine I have a switch on the bottom right so I tilt the freezer over to the left and...

Freezer not as cold as should be

Just to add IMO it could take as much as 3/4 days to fully defrost the drain, if it has not fully defrosted the water that drips from the evaporator when defrosting will just sit in the drain and then freeze up the evaporator when appliance starts again. As said if you find water in the drip...

    Transporting fridge/freezer.

Sorry Dorset, your a long way from Dorset, our posts crossed as you can see from times. It would always be best practice to allow unit to stand to allow any oil to drain into the compressor, but the rest is said in my previous reply, I have never had a restriction through my moving a unit and...

    Transporting fridge/freezer.

Thank you Racket, I bow to your superior knowledge, I have been doing it wrong for the last 36 years moving refrigeration units on the wrong side but thankfully have never had a problem (very lucky) I have always assumed any oil leaving the compressor in the suction line would not actually get...

    Transporting fridge/freezer.

If you look at the compressor there are three pipes, one short, one thick and one thin. If you lay the machine on it's side with the THIN tube uppermost, that is he delivery tube, then no oil will get into the system so you can plug it in as soon as you like when in position. Colin

    microwave magnetrons

No, the O/P may be a microwave tech. that has not seen that fault before so may ask if anyone has come across those symptoms. As I said if you don't know how to identify the capacitor to short it out I would not do the job. I would think an electric shock from an energised microwave would...

    Daewoo nofrost multiflow fridge/freezer problem??

Vent tubes between freezer and fridge patly blocked with ice, first check the fridge door is closing correctly, turning the fridge light off, if you cant see the light switch when door is closed pull seal back when door is shut to see if light is on. Colin

    microwave magnetrons

First discharge the capacitor by placing an insulated screwdriver on the chassiss and sliding it to short out capacitor terminals, if you don't know which is the capacitor don't do the job. I would not take out a magnetron without a meter to test if it leaks after you refit it, nothing to see if...

    Maytag Fridge/Freezer leaking water ?

Get some hot water down the drain until it is clear, once the water runs down the drain stop so as not to overfill drip tray, if you don't clear it the fault will keep returning. Colin

    Bamboo floor

Hi, the floor is not stuck down but a small amount of adhesive on the tongue and grove so if you lift and pull you would just break off the tongue. I was just wondering if anyone had used any liquid substance or heat to loosen the glue used. Thanks Colin

    Bamboo floor

Hi, can anyone give advise on how to lift a bamboo floor, t&g + adheasive. Hope to relay the floor after central heating fitted. Is there anything that can be poured into the Grooves to "loosen" the adheasive. Many thanks Colin
