I am thinking of installing up to 4 wall lights out door around my patio. To keep things simple I am thinking of plugging into the outdoor socket that I use for the lawnmower etc. I’m thinking of running the cable up and across the exterior walls and under the barge board. Can anyone advise on...

    Replace Microbore with 15mm

I have a pressurised cylinder with heater, but gas appears to be far more efficient at heating water. Is there no way of isolating the CH at the boiler? I accept your other points and advice, so thanks.

    Replace Microbore with 15mm

Hi. Wishing to change a meeting x of 8 and 10mm copper to 15 on all downstairs rads. This will cause me to drain the CH system and as I have a system boiler I will lose HW. As this job will likely take me longer than a day or so, is there a way of retaining HW. Also what thoughts do people have...

    New oven and hob

Well, thanks again for your help on this matter. it appears that for the £5 cost of the dual plate, plus some cable, I'll be good to go. I guess then final check will be to ensure that the 6mm2 cable goes right back to the consumer unit, which I am almost certain it does.

    New oven and hob

So, when shopping for oven and hob we found a job at 7.2 kw and an oven at 6kw. We were told that they would require separate 32amp supplies and also questioned the size of the cable to our existing oven. They also said they would not install the items if on arrival the existing installation...

    New oven and hob

Why do they not? Is it as simple as you dont have everything on at once? (all 4 hob rings, plus oven plus grill) But what if you do? Christmas day?

    New oven and hob

I'm now finding internet pages that tell me that a standard cooker installation with a 32A mcb / fuse can cope with 15KW? Can anyone explain?
