I've just had new bath taps with a shower hose fitted. Tenants report they can only get fully hot or cold, nothing between. It shouldn't be a boiler issue as the only thing changed is the taps. The old ones were just old and ugly and stiff changing from bath to shower, but the mixing worked...

Hello Sparkies, I've got a problem that's beyond my pay grade. The power tripped, I checked, the RCD had tripped. After trying and failing to reset, I turned all toggles on the main board off, turned on the main switch, then the RCD, then all the others in turn. Isolated it to upstairs...

when I open both the drain points water flows out of both, so hard to know which is which. Flow is better, steadier from the RH point so I was planning to flush and fill through that one. Any suggestions? ta

There are two white drain taps outside my house for the CH. Why two? What's the diff between one and the other? Can I use these to refill the system when I'm done cleaning it out? ta

thanks yes checked the pump, some bits of muck in there but nothing drastic, turning ok. Problem still mystfying though. Drained again, emptied header tank completely, cleaned out, all the sludge gone. Refilled, did a test fill and drain again, running through clear (but I have two drain taps...

And one more puzzle: when I was cleaning gunk out of the header tank that'd come through the header overflow, it was all pretty gravelly, and much of it was bright green. Is this some copper-related thing?

thanks guys helps to understand the ins and outs a bit better. After two days with Sentinel in there, hopefully loosening and moving the sludge a bit, just drained (again) fingers crossed for better circulation this time.
