Yeah thats what i thought. one slight issue is that I already re-floored 3 of the upstairs bedrooms before i found out it was one pipe - so bloody annoying!
Hello,
I have a one pipe central heating system with an 18 year old non-condensing boiler in my house. It all works fine however I am about to redecorate my enitre house including laying new solid wood floors throughout. So Im after some advice as to whether I should have a new two pipe...
Thanks,
I didnt go down far enough to see the internal brickwork but there is nothing visbile on the outside walls. we have just bought the house - its early 1970's and Id say the cracks have been there for some time.
Think the answer it to rack it out right down to the brickwork as...

OK thanks - do the regs allow 100% of the total Amperage then. Also would be interested on your comments on the below from http://www.dusklights.co.uk/technical-advice/fitting-downlights.html which says 33% can be added due to diversity.
The calculation would be:
Total Watts ÷ Voltage =...
Many Thanks Taylor - good to see some people can be helpful.
The instructions def only mention a 100mm gap from insulation and a 0.5m gap below the light - nothing about joists or wood, however I do think have no choice but to move them now
Thanks for the usful comment - most of them where already fitted by previous owner you nobjockey.
Can anyone who knows what they are talking about tell me the maximum Wattage allowed on a 5 AMP lighting circuit?
He said I should ask on this website.
I felt the heat coming from the lights - although the actual lights get very hot i can easily hold my hand next to the light fitting and feel hardly any heat at all so Im pretty sure its not going to set a joist on fire
OK Thanks,
So I need to rmeove some lights - What is the maximum Wattage I should have on this circuit? Ive tried looking it up and I cant find anything. Ive seen some guidlines that say you can go over the amperage on lighting circuits - I think this is called diversity and allows you to...
Sorry another post. I have a 5 amp downstair light circuit that is now loaded with the below:
12 x 60 w normal bulbs
23 x 50 w halogen
total watts = 1870
1870 / 230 = 8.13 Amps !
However Ive had all the lights on at once at so far, so good. Is this ok?
