Indeed, I used to test a couple of factories, lots of presses, sewing machines, "test everything" was the remit, apart from the telephone switchboard...

PAT is a misleading term, from memory it should be "In service equipment", meaning everything hard wired or plugged in

You do find them in commercial kitchens, especially around wet areas
