He was here for 2hrs boxed it off and said "it was the best i could do" and when i checked (almost a year later) to see if there was anything i could do to change it he had the + and - to the bulb cable not directly to the 1's he should of had it connected to
The only things i can think of are
1, the new one has 1 and 2 reversed.
2, the switch has faulty coils.
3, the switch has it's own fuse in the fuse box.

Check that both your washer and dryer has a 13a fuse, but as above it's better to get a new socket fitted. They still need 13a fuses in both (anything with an earth needs 13a fuse)

It's done there was all the right connections on the landing light i fed it from the loop live to the switch and sw'e live to the light and it works perfect.

He fitted the cable to the landing light via the loft to a different switch in the loft that he has put in...
