the screws push down far so it cant be touched
its double sided taped down so its solid.
I think the wires come a little out of the trunking. I remember the ELECTRICIAN didn't really want to fit this in the first place, but he did in the end.... probably because of the same reasons that you...
Yeah I want to cover it but dont want another huge box next to this one...need some neatness...
I suppose I could try to fit it in the fuse box because it seems big enough but
I just don't know if there's enough slack on the wires. I don't want to start taking the trunking up.
What difference...
Oh, I already wired it... The advice here was bang on 100%... I'm usually pretty good at wiring things, but this thing confused me, didnt think to join neutrals....it just worked straight away... and it's got a smooth on and off... with the other switch, if I said " alexa turn light to 50% " it...
OK its just arrived and Im wondering...does it need to be hiddens as
surely these terminal that show screws are not live, as they are not covered?
this with one screw down
On the old one, none of the copper braids are exposed because they go under the connector which you screw down
But now the new one doesn't come with anything... I didn't think of that
Is there anything I can buy to cover it?
The ELECTRICIAN didn't initially want to fit it, but I insisted... because the connector was not being used and it was brand-new because instead of using the connector where it was meant to be used, I ended up installing smart bulbs as that sometimes solves the issue... but why I found with...
100%. Sometimes I've seen professional people not switch the electric off I'm not even risking that...
I will today try to work out which live goes to the switch.
Can this be done by disconnecting one of the live wires & seeing if the switch works or?
Yes, current set up only has 2 wires input , 2 wires output, rocker switch is somehow wired to it but I dont know how as its hidden.
I just want to keep set up the same...ie just replace the unit in the same wiring map and got confused as new modules have different connection.
OK so
Switch is...
The rocker switch kills the unit as I just tried to turn it off, the unit went offline so thats 100%.
Yes, app only dims the lights, (and through Alexa). I always leave the switch ' on ' so Im ok with it being ON all the time and using app only.
I'm sure I'm overthinking this, but I've just...
