You need to get a specialist in. There's obviously a drainage problem in that area.
You need to solve the problem of where the water comes from foremost. Then drain and allow to dry out. Once completely dry you can then make any repairs the are necessary.

Wickes stuff isn't that bad to be honest. I've only used the trade Matt emulsion so comment on any of the others.
I'd always go for the best you can afford as it saves so much time. There's nothing worse than having to paint a ceiling 3 times just to get even coverage.

Silicone and grout do bond together very well. I'd be reluctant to put grout over silicone though as grouts not very flexible and will crack and come away over time. Usually you'd fix your mixer/valve etc then tile upto it fill with grout and apply clear silicone over grout. My experience is...

Fittings will probably be different. If your door opens, closes and locks ok. But just looks tatty you might consider just replacing the centre panel. Its quite an easy job let me know if you need instructions.
