Quick update. Vaillant engineer arrived, decided within 2 mins that new heat exchanger and pump required. Guy back tomorrow to fit parts. Hopefully that will resolve the problem, certainly a lot of money he reckoned about £800 worth of work. He thinks it is likely that water quality is...

Is there a prize for predicting the correct fault :) I am guessing the BG guys are passing the buck in case they fit an expensive part that doesnt solve the problem, I wonder whether they have targets to hit. The BG Engineer has just not filled me with confidence and restricting the cold...

Thanks for info So the pressure at the meter should be 20.5 then if it is 16mb at the boiler. If it higher than this, say 23mb would I need to consider at increasing the incoming pipe? Can't say for sure if there is 28mm coming in at any point can only see 22mm before going behind a partition...

I downloaded the MI from the Vaillant website this morning and they are certainly newer than the ones I got with the boiler. The figures min max pressures at the test point are 15 - 23 Bit confused now though, does it look like I have pressure problem or not? The BG engineer is due shortly...
