Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

I'll have to put that back on then

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

Thanks Dan. I think it's fair to say that we've just met the limits of my understanding  and I'm going to have to give the installer a call to come and have a look. At least I can conclude that I've not missed anything basic. Really appreciate you taking the time to help. All the best...

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

Thanks again for your continued support here Dan. The boiler goes to status 5 when the cylinder asks for heat - we have no problems with hot water. Just that nothing happens when the nest asks for the heating for the radiators. And could that have been caused by rewiring the HeatLink the...

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

It's a Y plan I believe. We have a single valve diverting between the cylinder and radiators.

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

Thanks Dan. The HeatLink was moved by my builder while installing the kitchen who kind of shrugged his shoulders saying that he thinks the HeatLink has broken and then went home for the weekend . Looking at the wiring, there's a single twin wire going between the HeatLink and the boiler which...

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

Thanks for the response Dan. I've changes the settings to OpenTherm, but now I'm getting a H73 error (There is a wireless connection but OpenTherm is not detected. Check your installation). Don't suppose you know of a way to override the Nest and get the boiler to provide us with some heating...

Heating issues after building work (Intergas Eco RF / Nest)

Hi. We’ve just had some building work done and now struggling with central heating problems. Our setup is that we have an Intergas Eco RF 24 heating the radiators (controlled by Nest) and unvented cylinder (with its own thermostat attached to the side). The hot water is favored over the...

Horizontal unvented cylinder in loft conversion

That's exactly what I'm trying to consider. I don't want to install something, have something go wrong and it be a b!tch to work on or replace. So as a rule of thumb, let's say I was going to store a 600mm width cylinder in a cupboard. What sort of clearance would be the minimum expected?

Thanks. Nearer to the time I might well be in touch.

Horizontal unvented cylinder in loft conversion

Yeah, I had a look at them yesterday and one might just fit - especially since it's got a domed top which may just get the clearance. It's back to the architect today to see what he says about space. Thanks for your help. Dave.

Hi Dan. We're planning a full house refurb and loft extension right now resulting in pretty much a replacement of our old central heating system (including pipework as we're currently working off of a single pipe system). Closer to the time, I was wondering if you would come as far as Romford...

Horizontal unvented cylinder in loft conversion

Thanks both for the advice. @muggles You wouldn't touch it because it's horizontal or because it's a Telford? Ideally I'd have an upright one and I'm just going through the architects diagrams with a tape measure to figure out whether it will be possible. After the work we will have 1 family...

Horizontal unvented cylinder in loft conversion

Hello, me after some advice again. After my last post, I've come to the conclusion that instead of relying on a combi to supply 2 bathrooms with hot water, it would be better to go for an unvented hot water tank. The next question is where can I put it? Ideally I'd like to have the boiler in...

Confused... Central heating / combi question

Thanks everyone for the responses, it really helpful to hear different takes on it. I've just measured our pressure to be pretty much bang on 3 bar and the flow rate to be approximately 15 l/min. From what I've read online others have said that to have a two showers running from a single combi...

Confused... Central heating / combi question

Hello. I live in a 1930's mid terraced 3 bedroom house and about to pull the trigger on a loft extension and ground floor refurb. We need as much space as possible (can't afford to move) so as a result we will have to remove the cold water tanks from the loft. The loft extension will mean...
