Thanks, will give them a call and see what they say.

    Radio Plug

I think the solution is going to be to fit a new connector (figure 8 would suffice I think). The pins are about the same as an electric saver plug.

    Home Studio

Thanks for the info guys. On inspection in my meter cupboard I have found a spare switch (not connected to anything) that has a 30amp cartridge fuse in it. Could this cable be used for the studio power supply? This would be more than adequate supply for everything. I think this supply may have...

    Radio Plug

Radio Rentals is no more. I have looked on Maplins and RS website also Canford Audio, but nothing. They seem to stock the shaver plug leads or the 3 pin to 2 pin white adapter socket, but not the female socket needed for the back of this radio.

    Home Studio

One thing does puzzle me is how some appliances only show watts while others show amps on their voltage panel. I have a mixing desk that shows 45VA - what does that mean? Is that 45 watts?

    Home Studio

To find out the total load I assume I will need to look at each of the equipment's voltage plate and see what each unit consumes in watts / amps etc and then add them all up. Is that correct? I doubt to be honest whether the total load would even come near 13 amps - most of the stufff I remember...

    Home Studio

This winter once my other electrical issue is resolved, I hope to use one of my spare rooms for a home studio installation. This will consist of various pieces of audio equipment as well as computers. I would like to have a main double pole isolating switch fitted on the wall probably around the...

    Radio Plug

It could be the same, although I suspect that the pins on the radio are larger than the ones on the plug you suggested. I will, as you say, need to get the dimensions to be 100% certain. I remember when I was little my dad had an extension lead which had a white 2 pin plug on one end and a 2...

    No Earth Apparantly

I will see about getting a new terminal block this weekend like the one you posted and connect them altogether that way. It looks to me (and I'm not even a qualified person) that the electrics haven't been done well at all.

    Radio Plug

Indeed yes - that is the connection on the back of the radio to attach a mains lead.

    Radio Plug

A mate of mine has an old Radio Rentals model 204. The mains connection on the back looks to me like a two pin plug the type that you would get on an electric shaver. Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy the actual socket that this type of connection requires? Photo attached shows the...

    No Earth Apparantly

I would think it should be easy enough to lift the carpet and boards to see what's underneath, however the people who were in before have put hardboard sheets down to cover and make a flatter surface rather than have the old floorboards.

    No Earth Apparantly

Thanks for all the advice guys - much appreciated, but I am a bit bamboozled by all the abbreviations. TNC? DNO? PES? I would guess that a qualified electrician could do the entire job and would also check that the earth requirements are being met. This is the terminal block and the...

    No Earth Apparantly

The G&Y coming out of the ground is approx 0.7mm thick - there is only a green wire (approx 0.5mm thick) coming from the fuse box up to a brass connector that you can see just to the left of the meter name. The incoming feed does appear to be some kind of cloth material yes. The g&y comes up...
