Thanks Sorry for sounding daft but what is the header tank and where is it. How do I clean it out.

How do I drain a system to move a radiator. I remember turning off a valve in the loft b4 then draining outside. Is there anything else to do 1st. Someone mentioned closing all the rad valves to stop them emptying is this best practice. Thanks David
