Thanks for the reply. Will the boards be OK, mostly fixed to the joists, but 35cm ends resting on the different substrate? In your opinion, should I face fix to the concrete, or leave floating effectively?

Hi After reading numerous threads on here, I still don't know what to do for the best regarding my flooring. I plan on securing joists to the concrete floor in our new extension (floor has been down over 12 months so nice and dry) purely to raise the floor to the level of the threshold...

Thanks for the replies, put my mind at rest ;) Whilst on the subject, I was planning on sinking the sleepers in (2.4m long sleepers) to a depth of 1.2m... Is sinking them in to 1/2 length overkill, or would a 1/3 depth suffice? Would save on materials and labour!!
