Sorry it turns on and off when up to temp I have set up a Schedule to come on at 4am off at 6am and on at 5pm off at 10.30pm Monday to Sunday but between 6am and 5pm and 10.30pm and 4am it still calls for heat so the boiler is on 24 hours. I hope that makes sense thank you for your help.

I’m not a plumber or anything like that and I did it in less than ten minutes. It’s only one screw two plastic pipes and a couple of wires to push on after you have taken the side and front off the boiler I got a new one off eBay for about £9 All the best Dean.

Well it was the ignition transformer at fault once replaced all working good now. I hope this will help someone as when I was looking around I found lots of people with the same problem as me. All the best Dean.

Thank you for the reply acssim I will order one to see I also think it’s the ignition transformer as I get volts when the boiler will not light (CH/hot water) as I see it if it was a safety lock out then I think there would be no volts on the ignition transformer. Thank You All the best Dean.

VAILLANT VCW GB 242 EH Hi all I have a problem with this boiler it will not light sometimes. When it does not light I still get voltage to the ignition transformer I wonder if you can tell me if the ignition transformer is at fault or am I barking up the wrong tree. Thank All the best Dean.

Thank you for the answer what I have got is no hole on the main PCB vertically mounted just variable potentiometer with white plastic spindle so the middle horizontal board for non hybrid if I understand right has the spindle on it and passes throw the main non hybrid PCB Thank you I now know...

Can someone help with a replacement part number for the pcb 13-0273 main board it has a plastic temperature dial spindle on it if that helps thank you Funny how I can’t find pcb 13-0273 there seems to be so many types All the best Dean.
