Ford S Max - Wiring Loom Replacement

I’ve got a Ford S Max - Titanium, 2013 About 10 days ago it started playing up - initially the alarm was coming on for no reason, then I had an Engine Malfuncton error on the dash, airbag light was on. Took it to local garage - they did initial diagnosis and this showed a throttle position...

    Chimney breast removal advice

I'm not sure why the lintel was used - it's in the party, presumably as a means of strengthening the wall beneath the point where the steels are supported. Our loft conversion has full building regs sign-off so I can only assume that everything was deemed to be normal at this point. Yes we did...

    Chimney breast removal advice

I live in a mid terrace house and had a loft conversion completed 18 months ago. As part of work we had a shared chimney stack removed to floor level. Builders used a concrete lintel on the party wall to support steel beam that was then used as part of loft conversion. Subsequently had the...

Got the thermostat fitted and working last night. Thanks again for your help.

Installation of Nest 3rd Generation (Vaillant ecoTec Pro 28)

Thanks so much for the guidance. So just to confirm - I'll just connect the two Lives and two Neutrals together and run them into their respective terminals on the heat link, black wire to T2 and grey to T3. There's no earth terminal in the Heat Link so should I just join the two Earths and...

Installation of Nest 3rd Generation (Vaillant ecoTec Pro 28)

I've got a Next 3rd generation and would like some guidance on the wiring for the Heat Link as I'm struggling to follow the wiring diagram in the manual. Existing thermostat is Drayton Digistat SCR - wiring is shown in the attached picture. Can someone tell me what wires goes where? Does the...

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

Having gone a week without hot water and heating I decided last week to proceed with the BG powerflush. They arrived onsite this morning, but realised that some of the sub floor flow / return pipework for the boiler is most likely plastic piping with push fit connectors (he can't see this for...

Installation of Magna filter on heating system

I've recently had a Magna filter installed by a BG engineer as part of their attempts to resolve an ongoing issue with my heating system. Due to space restrictions they have installed the filter on the CH flow pipe rather than the CH return. This wouldn't seem to make much sense as any muck...

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

I had another BG engineer on site today to investigate this ongoing boiler issue. They've now told me that the issue is with the primary heat exchanger, and that they'll only replace it if I first pay them £720 to perform a Power Flush. If I was to get a Power Flush performed independently and...

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

The problem has returned! Hot water works fine at low pressure but when the tap is opened beyond 1/4 open the water heats up, modulates down and never comes back up to temperature. At this stage they have replaced the pump, plate exchanger, and pipes feeding the plate exchanger. Any ideas what...

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

You were right. The problem has returned. Interestingly the hot water works fine when the pressure in the hot water tap is low, e.g. tap is 1/4 open but once the demand is increased the temperature tails off and doesn't warm up again. Very bizarre.

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

So after spending 3 full days trying to solve the problem it turned out to be an issue with the pump. BG replaced the pump after speaking with Vaillant and it's working perfectly again. This comes after they replaced the plate heat exchanger, the pipes feeding this, and the sensors.

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

Thanks for confirming what I had already thought. Its safe to say that I wont be using them for any other services after they've managed to get this boiler back on its feet...if they can manage that. I have another BG engineer here at the moment - he's been running the hot tap for about 30...

Hot water issues with Vaillant EcoTec Pro 28 combi boiler

I have a Eco Tec Pro 28 boiler - it's about 5 years old. A couple of weeks back we started having issues with the hot water supply from the boiler - when the hot tap is opened we get hot water as expected but within 1-2 minutes the temperature starts to drop off and then starts running cold...
