Fix conventional heating (upstairs radiators on with hot water) and make it smart

I've now replaced the 2 port valve head with a like for like replacement so now that's working. I've bought a Drayton Wiser 3 channel kit. The hand drawn diagram was created by the previous owner. The top timer is downstairs heating and hot water, the bottom one is upstairs heating but it's...

Fix conventional heating (upstairs radiators on with hot water) and make it smart

Sorry for the long post... My questions are in blue. What do I need to do to fix it? Can I make it smart with a Drayton Wiser 2 channel kit? Context We’ve been here a year and the heating hasn’t been that great, ideally I want to replace it with a pressurised system with new radiators...

Make heatmiser underfloor and radiator system smarter

House is a 1930s semi-detached house that was gutted out and done up ~5 years ago. It's reasonably well insulated. It has a Valiant system boiler (gas) paired with a Joule unvented cylinder. The hot water is controlled by a honeywell timer, the heating side of it is left on permanently and...

Network cable and alarm cable in the same ducting

Can i run alarm cable and unshielded cat5e/cat6 cable in the same ducting? Probably will have 2 alarm cables, 2 cat5e cables, and 2 cat6 cables. The alarm cables will be used for the RKP and the bell box. The run will be approx 20m where they will all be parallel. Will the alarm cause...

Programming advice for Texecom Premier elite 24

I'm in a similar situation, I can't get up to the bell box to disconnect the back up battery. Instead i'm going to connect the hold off connections from the bell box to the old alarm's battery. It may go off for a few mins while I faff around with the wiring, but should work in theory. Here's...

Up to you, like I said it is doable, you just need to read up on it and think it through.

Programming advice for Texecom Premier elite 24

You can get the Veritas manual directly from Texecom. Yes it's because of that, from what i've been reading you need to keep power to it to prevent from going off, unless it has a hold off mode.

Programming advice for Texecom Premier elite 24

Ahh ok, then Premier Elite makes sense for that. The kit you have seems fine for what you've described. It's doable, i've done it before, although i've done it from scratch and not replaced an existing system. This time my scenario is similar to yours in that i'm replacing something. Read the...

Programming advice for Texecom Premier elite 24

What are you hoping to achieve by upgrading to the Premier Elite? What does it give you that your current alarm doesn't? Programming is doable if you read the Texecom installation manual carefully, you don't need Wintex for that (it does make it easier though, but not if you don't know what...

Replacing Eurosec CP8L with Texecom Premier Elite

:D I was hoping to avoid that. Is there not a sequence to disconnect to avoid it from going off? Or if not that then what if I temporarily connected it to the old alarm's battery? Yep, that's why i'm also putting in an 8xp. I wanted the extra zones on the 64-W as opposed to a premier elite 24.

Replacing Eurosec CP8L with Texecom Premier Elite

I'm intending to replace a Eurosec CP8L with a Texecom Premier Elite 64-W. At the moment I intend to reuse the existing wiring and keep all the PIRs, the existing bell box and the dialler. I believe the bell box is a Eurosec XS3D, i've found instructions for it but there's nothing to indicate...

Texecom Cloud Remote Maintenace? Health Check

I'm probably not your typical end user as I installed mine myself. If I had paid someone to install it then i'd only be interested in the remote upgrade if it added enhanced functionality that I might want to make use of. If the upgrade was to fix a defect then not sure i'd be happy to pay for...
