    Caller ID giving wrong time

Glad it's not just me. My old copper system with my 15+ year old caller ID was perfect. The new fibre appears to be 323 days and 10 hours out.

    Caller ID giving wrong time

Didn't have a choice with fibre. I would love to have kept the old copper. We have lost the 1571 answerphone, caller Id makes it up as it goes along and phoneline doesn't work in a powercut but hey - welcome to the future!

    Caller ID giving wrong time

Now then all. I've had to make the jump from copper to fibre broadband and I've gone with Kcom who could offer a landline service too. Due to the change, I've had to replace my phone because the old one's caller ID wouldn't work on system - apparently it's a thing if they are over 10-15 years...

Digital Voice Adapter in Network Switch.

Just found a video on Kcomm showing me that the telephone socket is on the back of the ONT box. I'll see what turns up on installation day before I start re-building my home network. - STEP 2 and 3 - 2:10 to 2:50 in the video

Digital Voice Adapter in Network Switch.

This looks the best option. May I ask which router you went with?

Digital Voice Adapter in Network Switch.

Now then. I'm just moving broadband companies and have to have FTTP. We have a traditional phone that needs to be plugged into the new router, an eero 6+. Unfortunately they only have two ports on the back, one taken up by the fibre input, the other is where the adapter for the phone will be...

Float valve not happy with taps

Sorry blup, to answer your assumption - spot on!

Float valve not happy with taps

Looking closer, the ball is just touching the side wall of the cistern creating a little bit of resistance, so my guess is the change is pressure is pushing the arm to the fully closed position. It's an old Burlington bell style cistern and the arm looks like a map of spaghetti junction to get...

Float valve not happy with taps

Hello all. When I use any of my cold water taps in the house, the part1 float valve in my cistern dribbles a little more water then stops, its as if when a tap comes on, the water in the pipe to the cistern drops back then pushes again forcing a little more water out. It stops doing it...

Decent Part 1 float valve for bending

Cheers Exedon. Red heat might be a little more than I cn get with a paint stripper gun but I'll see if one if my neighbours has something. Ive got two arms to work at so wish me luck.

Decent Part 1 float valve for bending

Justa thought, is it possible to fit the arm of a part2 valve upside down so it bends up and not down? Or back to my original question, apply heat to help bend the arm?

Decent Part 1 float valve for bending

Changing tact a little. If I fit a Vival Skylow and I cant get the water level high enough, has anyone had any experience in cutting the inner pipe to lower the height of the required water? The cistern is very similar to the one shown but my grips the bell at the side. My thought is, if I cut...

Decent Part 1 float valve for bending

I'd have to measure to see if a Viva Skylow will fit and give a high enough water level to allow the cistern to flush. Might be easier than trying to bend a one hundred quid brass valve. The "brass" valve I used must have been a cheep import
