    Kitchen worktop lifting

I just looked them up and I got "Yes, Howdens manufactures most of its kitchen components, including the majority of its cabinet carcasses (rigid cabinets), in its UK factories"

Howdens. Haven't had any follow up since the purchase was made and a reluctant offer of replacement only after complaining..

I could put that to them but now I have repaired it that would be a tad embarrassing if they demanded to inspect before parting with the money.

Yes it's a 2 part sealant and adhesive. Thanks for the compliment on the job btw

    Kitchen worktop lifting

If it gives me any more problems after my repair I may do that but the company only offered me (eventually) the replacement for the worktop alone and I would have to source my own fitter. The upheaval and cost of that is not worth the effort at the moment, but like I said, I will try and take it...

No as the colourful acts as a glue too.

    Kitchen worktop lifting

Ok, I clamped it down hard for a few days which actually reduced the gap. Then I filled and finished with Colourfill. Pretty happy with results for a novice.

Mold blocker paint before matt emulsion

I just can't believe the fight I am having DESPITE the electric dehumidifier, having the window slightly open as much as possible and other disposable dehumidifiers dotted around and black mold is starting to appear and the paper feels damp. NO water coming from outside and the air is dry. The...

Mold blocker paint before matt emulsion

Well, I just don't understand it as we have dehumidifier, a few of those plastic disposable dehumidifiers, the window ajar in the day and yet it is feeling damp-wet in places. No water on the outside wall at all. Also, we have old cupboard doors we had dipped and stripped 25 years ago and they...

VW Polo 2002 power assist in steering suddenly failed

I can see them on Ebay ranging from £60. Scrap is not ideal as you have no guarantee if it went the same way, as well as wasting money having it fitted. I can't fit it as you have to take the panel off. I think the quote to fit is reasonable.

VW Polo 2002 power assist in steering suddenly failed

I have had it checked properly by a mechanic who says the the fitting will be £100. Sourced the part brand new next day delivery for £420 inc vat. The number part is 6R0423156C

No, he hasn't looked at it. I called in today and just asked him what it would cost. Told him the checks I had made.

VW Polo 2002 power assist in steering suddenly failed

Well, after checking the fuse, battery and fluid my mechanic told me there isn't anything else he can think of. He said it's silly money to have it replaced and probably better scrapping. Gutted as it's a very good car that has just passed it's MOT.

VW Polo 2002 power assist in steering suddenly failed

It has never occurred before in my 14 years of ownership. I think I used to hear a whirring noise in the seat when about to start up now you mention it. I'll check that tomorrow.
