treated it as three separate switches:
but only 1 switch did anything at all
and only turned 1 of the fittings on/off
the rest remained off no matter what.
looking for a little help with a switch.
10 x spotlights in ceiling
3 x t&e coming down into switch
as they are there are 2 x 2gang2way switches
connected as the diagram below shows.
I would prefer to have a 3g switch on a single backbox if possible
but when doing so the lights...
the external light is a connector block

all connections are fine in there
and that is the only cable ( i can trace it )
from outside - in
and that cable goes directly to the switch as in the diagram
sadly no camera available ( would be a help I admit )
no nothing has been changed
although Im looking for an excuse to change the porch light
so if you see something that needs changing by that diagram
let me know lol
ive re done the diagram to make it clearer
the neautral (BLUE) to external is in "1way"
the line (BROWN) from external is in common
the earth from external is loose
the line (brown) from ceiling is in common
the switched line ( black with small brown sleeve ) is in "1way"

My house has a porch which has a single 2gang light switch on the wall.
one side controls the porch ceiling light
the other the external wall light. ( well..used to )
the cable coming from the porch light to the switch is a 3core & earth
and the cable going to the external is a T&E...
