    15.5kw 3 phase oven

Thank you for all your help. Actually, we've decided to leave the socket where it is, and locate the oven near the socket (we'll just re-arrange the kitchen a bit). The RED socket says 32-6h 3p-N+Earth IP44 200/346V, 240/415V. I've checked the CU and it's on a 32A breaker. Am I right in...

    15.5kw 3 phase oven

Thank you guys. On balance, as this would be permanent, I'll get my spark in to relocate. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

    15.5kw 3 phase oven

If so, could we use a 32A extension lead on a 10.4kw oven?

    15.5kw 3 phase oven

In respect of a commercial oven on a 3 phase supply. The location of the socket is not ideal for the location of the oven. Would using an extension lead be a NO NO? The current looks too big??

    12v MR16 downlights

Thanks for your speedy reply, much appreciated. It does look like mains lighting cable feeding into the driver, but there is a lot of lagging there. Can't get to the floor above (it's a flat), and no other access in the ceiling to follow the cable back, without cutting a piece of plasterboard...

    12v MR16 downlights

Totally fed up with this rubbish - keep blowing/overheating wires. I have three in the kitchen, each fed off its own transformer/driver. I want to rid myself of these and replace with some low profile bulkhead 14w LED lights. Is it as simple as removing the driver and feeding into the new light?

    MF Ceiling

Well, yes I do. But the reason for my last post was hoping someone would either say "yeah, those drywall screws are tough", or "What, they shear like crazy" ... just waiting for some affirmation from more "experienced" guys that do this sort of stuff everyday.

    MF Ceiling

Thanks guys - yeah, they're not "joist hangers", they are angles metal with no holes. You're supposed to drill holes and attach to joists with "appropriate fixing". It's a British Gypsum product...

    MF Ceiling

We are looking at installing a MF independent ceiling whcih hang from the original joists. The instructions say attach the fixed metal hanger to the existing joist with "appropriate" fixings. Great! So I plan to drill two holes in the metal angled hanger and screw these into the side of the...
