I am replacing a ceiling rose (the last in a loop-in system) and the new light only has 2 connections, blue and brown because it is double-earthed. I'm not sure what I should do with the 2 red, live wires? Can these just be joined together in a screw terminal block? That's what I was going to do...

What size timber should I use for a stud wall, splitting one bedroom in two? Presumably it will need to be planed, square edge stuff but what dimensions? Do the head and sole pieces need to be thicker than the vertical studs or the same size? Cheers!
