I am replacing a ceiling rose (the last in a loop-in system) and the new light only has 2 connections, blue and brown because it is double-earthed. I'm not sure what I should do with the 2 red, live wires? Can these just be joined together in a screw terminal block? That's what I was going to do with the Earth wires too. Is this correct?

Here is the current set up:

Any help would be great!

Yes you can join the two red wires together using a piece of choc block or you can use a junction box in the void above the light fitting (please remember the junction box must be made so it is accessible for inspectio/testing).

The black wire that is connected to the brown of the lamp should have a red sleeve to indicate that it is a switched live.
