    Damp walls on extension

I need to go back and find this out. I'm not sure what the easiest way to find this out is, as I don't think he has the drawings from when the previous owner had the extension built.

    Damp walls on extension

is there any type of covering that could be put on the internal walls to at least keep it damp-free on the inside of the building? (as a cheaper alternative to sort the issue out for him) and if so, would the dampness underneath it cause any further damage to the extension over time? He had...

    Damp walls on extension

I went back and checked some of the things you guys mentioned. 1. I knocked off some plaster on one of the damp internal walls and found the brick also damp: 2. I took some photos showing more of the outside of the building: The internal wall of this side of the building is...

    Damp walls on extension

-When I spoke with him today he said the render has been done down to ground level, without a bell cast trim. I can double-check that when I go next week.

    Damp walls on extension

I spoke with the owner today and he said that the extension has been there since he purchased the surgery 15 years ago. He said its probably 25 years old (guessing). - What methods are used to rule out condensation? - When I go there next week I plan to check the things you mentioned about the...

    Damp walls on extension

Yeah, there is a radiator on the ground floor (on the wall that has the worst wall damage), and one in the upstairs toilet room. I am due to go there next week to fix some other things and plan to check the guttering, thanks.

The damp problems mainly occur in the staffroom area located in an extension of the main building. The extension must have been built around 15+ years ago, and this damp issue has...

And you also seem to think you know my subcontractors are going to botch a job... Like, you are just making things up in your head. I have friends who know how to do these jobs. Nothing wrong with me getting them to complete the parts I don't know how to do.... The client has actually...

    Loft Conversion - Advice

I.e., I have a friend who does tiles and bricklaying. He has 20 years experience. He will do tiling of x format types for me at £33 a sq metre. Other tilers are charging £80 a sq meter for this same tile type. This means I can charge my client £40 a sq meter and save the client time, hassle...

    Loft Conversion - Advice

If I want to add on a % to the sub-contractor's bill, whether or not that increases the cost to the client, that's perfectly fine. No one is forcing the client to pay. They can get multiple quotes from different companies and choose whichever one they want.

Also, some do work for me cheaper than what they themselves would have charged the client, as I am bringing the tradesman lots of work. There are different ways of doing business. There isn't always one correct way of doing things... Your posts are full of false presumtioms, negative and not...
