    New Combi, dreadful noise from pipes!!

    Maybe your old pipes are not clipped under floors and in attic spaces? With the previous, gravity fed system, the pressure would not of been as high, but now you have a high pressured mains system, the pipe may just need clipped.

    British Gas wouldn't of turned off the GAS supply in the living room would they? Normally, if they are 'condeming' something then they would just turn off the supply at the appliance by capping it, and labeling the appliance. Am I right or not? Please update me, as I am lead to belive this...

    1970? You should be normal 22" pipe and if the pipe is not painted, encounter no problems? I've been working in houses from 1960 lately and they still have normal 22" pipe, this is in Scotland though, dont know about down south.
