Connecting series of bulkhead lights with conduit... waterproof too

Very True, though an install of this size sounds like it is worth doing properly first time. Possibly not such a good idea for DIY'er but would certainly be installing it myself probably in 3l1.5 for an emergency feed.

How much are you looking to spend on the project? As another user above suggested I would use Pyro if I wanted a sound install that will last for years! You Could pick up 100m of 2L1.5 enough Glands/Pots/Seals for about £300.

    Opinions on 60s pyro cable

It will keep going indefinitely, The weakest link with pyro of this age is people pulling it about at terminations. i.e. changing faceplates, testing etc, etc.

As long as it is in a suitably rated enclosure sheltered from environmental influences then there is no problem. Your electrician will run through all of this with you.

    Oval conduit

It does make me laugh when people talk about old cable needing to be replaced. The Imperial stranded tinned PVC was much better quality than the crap we have today.

    Opinions on 60s pyro cable

Would rather have 50 year old pyro than brand new pvc anyday of the week. It is a far superior cable system and will outlast me and you if left alone. The trouble's arise with these 5 yearly inspections with accessories being taken off for testing on a regular basis.
