    Common kitchen and bathroom drainage

Good health tips! The external junction of our washing machine/dishwasher and kitchen sink is pretty clogged up and leaking down the external wall. It's 7m up though so it'll be a scaff job unfortunately. If we and the previous occupants had done what you say it probably would've prevented the...

    Common kitchen and bathroom drainage

I think it's dropped in temp quite a lot by the time it's flushed, not quite as effective perhaps?

    Common kitchen and bathroom drainage

As part of a phased kitchen renovation we are looking to move the dishwasher to the other side of the room. Eventually the sink will move there as well and we may have to punch through the external wall to connect to the existing SVP, but for now we're hoping there's a temporary solution: The...

    Cat flap in wired glass

Thanks Ronnie, I'm up on all the fire regs, it's my area, but useful to hear about the change of status of the Georgian glass.

    Cat flap in wired glass

Morning all, I live in a 3 flat house with a common entrance door. The door is glazed with obscured bobbly wired glass. I want to put a cat flap in but I'm going to retain one of the panes just in case the council come a-knocking and instead put a replacement in. Is it possible for a supplier to...

    Washer for Close Coupled cistern

Thanks all. You weren't to know, but I have tried some of these. The euroflo was too wide, the donut kit was too tall (that's the one I ended up shaving). The amazon option looks interesting, maybe I'll try that next. The one I removed felt like a foamy product rather than rubber and was...

    Washer for Close Coupled cistern

Had a leak from a close coupled cistern on a savoy toilet. All the howto's I've seen replace the donut washer with a lovely domed washer which fits snuggly into a domed recess in the bowl. My bowl doesn't have that, it's pretty flat. As a result if I put a 1.5" donut in it the cistern sits too...

How would you seal this deep sink gap?

Great, thanks, worked well! I'm not typing "silicone finger" onto my work search engine though... Just in case!!

    Leaky tap...

Thanks. I now know that they are called o-rings and the ptfe temp fix has worked. Not sure how old they are, we've rented the place for 3 years and I reckon the previous owners did it maybe 7 years ago? The orings still seemed nice and squidgy, but I guess they only need to let a tiny bit...
