Thanks for that. Is there anything that I, will little experience working with boilers(!), could do to check if that is the problem?

Evening all When I set a heating cycle (say 2 hours) the boiler switches on, the radiators heat up etc but after approx an hour, the boiler switches off. If I leave it for 20mins I can get it to go back on again but the same thing happens. Anyone any advice? Thanks in advance! :)

Hmm, that's interesting as i wouldn't say that that the pipe rises by close to it's own diameter, it's a very slight slope. Would it be worth trying the connecting the hot to cold as you suggest anyway? Regarding the valve, I have tried turning the valve which is attached to the cold feed...

Yeah the pipe that comes out of the top of the tank turns left then heads straight up and into the wall. The valve on the cold feed pipe is turned fully anti-clockwise. The cold feed runs straight down from that valve that i posted a picture of, takes a right and goes into the hot water...

Is that a silver box, with honeywell embossed on it? If so, i do have 2 of them in and around the pipework. Any idea which setting would be for both radiators and hot water?

Option 1 doesnt sound very appealing!!! :shock: I will have a look to see if I can find a link between the cold water and hot pipes. The options i have are 'heating and water' and 'water only' so no way to have heating on only. Thanks
