It turns out that there are 5 cables. 4 are 2 core and earth. 1 is 3 core and earth, pretty sure this goes to the single switch. All blue go into a block and all earth cables are together. That leaves... Cable 1 - Brown - L1 (Top) Cable 2 - Brown - L1 (Top) Cable 3 - Brown - L2...

Had a look this morning at the double switch. There are 4 cables (3 core and Earth) going into it. Am I ok to assume that they would be.... 1 from the single switch 1 from one light 1 from the other light 1 from the next room Here is a pic... All the neutrals are together...

I hope not! I figured perhaps naively :oops: that I could use the exisiting cable that runs from ceiling rose to switch to provide the neccesary wires to connect my outside light into the circuit? Its been a few years since I did wiring in college!!

How about if I rewire the cable running from the ceiling rose to the single switch as apposed to adding another cable to the ceiling rose?

Yeah they are easily accessible. I am at work at the moment so wont be able to check anything till later on.

Hi everyone :) In my kitchen I have two lights. I have a switch like this that controlls both lights. I also have a switch like that controls one of the lights so it is 2 way. I want to fit an outside light and use the single switch to operate it. Is it possible with what I have?
