Sorry, I think you might have misunderstood my question. I meant - can I buy just the internals of a newer ADT bellbox and put them inside my case or are the cases different in some way? Thanks and Happy New Year!
I have this SUPER OLD ADT Bellbox that I've inherited from the previous owner which, after a couple of hours of cleaning, soldering and wiring up, have managed to get working. The strobe doesn't work and the battery is flat.
Could somebody kindly advise on a couple of alternatives that I can...
I'm installing 3 Roof Windows in a rear, single storey extension that is 3m. Would somebody be able to give some advice please:
1) Because it's a single storey, do I NEED extra security or are the standard double glazed ones (that all seem to be toughened glass) enough?
2) There is a kitchen...
Thanks. That worked. It now says Engineer Mode.
112233 takes me to settings
I'm going to 20 = Display Zones ent
It then says 1001 Final Closed.
As I go through they are all closed.
The PIRs are connected and on. The red lights come on when I walk past them. I feel like I'm missing something...
Hallelujah! A step closer.
I realised that the buttons weren't pressing properly so took the keypad apart and wiped out down with alcohol. Seems to have done something too the contacts.
When I tried 12345ent it came up with INVALID CODE
I then tried 112233ent and it displayed: NO ACCESS -...
It doesn't actually 'default'. It says "configuring system" then "alarm in progress". I try entering 12345 ent, but it doesn't show anything on the keypad. Just a few stars * and then goes back to "alarm in progress".
So I tried it, but it didn't work. I've attached a video of what I did (I tried by also connecting battery first and by disconnecting the external fuse).
Strangely, the system doesn't work at all when only the battery is connected even though I bought a new battery.
Any other ideas or other...
So I tried to default the panel but wasn't successful. Not sure whether I did it wrong or whether it just refuses to work. Still end up with the same message. Also tried following some steps posted previously on this forum. I have all the manuals to hand.
Would anybody be kind enough to...
Thanks for the detailed replies and taking the time to explain.
I've got the owners manual and downloaded the remainder. Will try this all and feedback.
The old battery terminal was corroded. I cut it off and dipped it in some Dettol (that was left by the previous owner) and came back after an...
Thanks - will try that and see what happens. Not hopeful as I suspect the system has been off for a long time.
The previous battery had corrosion on the leads and has an installation date of 2010! Thanks for the help nonetheless. Very grateful.
Thanks for the reply! Do you mean buy a factory default panel? Is it worth/or can I upgrade the panel to something a bit newer? Or just stick to the same one I have now.
This is what I have at the moment:
