    Baxi Solo 50RS - reposition thermocouple/pilot injector?

OK. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully it won't cost too much to get someone out to clean the pilot injector.

    Baxi Solo 50RS - reposition thermocouple/pilot injector?

Sorry guys - are you saying that trying to correct the position of the thermocouple is potentially dangerous? I'd assumed that, since it's already not positioned correctly, the worst that would happen would be for it to continue to be out of position and therefore cause the pilot to keep going out.

    Baxi Solo 50RS - reposition thermocouple/pilot injector?

I've got a Baxi Solo 50RS that I just need to last a few more months until I've got the money to replace it. Pilot light keeps going out and most of the time won't stay on when I relight it. I've tested the thermocouple by disconnecting it and holding a lighter to it while lighting the pilot...

    Microwave...just keeps on turning :)

I've got an LG microwave that's about 9 years old and has just developed a strange fault...when the microwaving time is done it beeps as always but the light then stays on and the turntable keeps turning. I'm pretty sure it's no longer microwaving at this point. Now, I know it's oldish but I...

oops - sorry...you already answered that! Guess I'll be returning the universal thermocouple I bought 'just in case' it would work. (Note to self: if you ask for advice, try reading it properly) Ronnie

    Baxi Solo thermocouple replacement...DIY??

Thanks for the advice. I'm not entirely sure that it's the thermocouple but it looks like on of the most likely causes (or maybe a dirty pilot injector..?). Anyway - I noticed that you can pick up universal thermocouples quite readily...would that be suitable or do I need a specific one for...

    Baxi Solo thermocouple replacement...DIY??

I've got a Baxi Solo 2 50RS and the pilot light is going out every other day. Having looked around it seems that replacing the thermocouple has a good chance of fixing this problem and since they're not too expensive it's probably worth a shot. Now, I'm a boiler novice and haven't done any...

    Electric shower problem?

nozpark...I thought that the switch was effecively just a mechanical part? Flip the switch and it makes a physical connection and that's it ?? Sorry if this is a stupid question but how could it be broken? Ronnie

    Electric shower problem?

Just checked the wiring inside the shower (as much as I'm able) and it all looks fine...no loose connections or obvious damage. I noticed also that when I turn the shower on (i.e. get the water going), the light on the (isolation?) switch outside the showerroom goes out entirely. When the shower...

    Electric shower problem?

Hi all...originally posted this in the plumbing forum but they reckoned it was an electrical fault and would get more help here.... I've got a Gainsborough 10.5kW electric shower in my house...switch with red light (sorry...not sure on the correct term for that) is on the wall outside the...

No hot water from electric shower

Hi all...first post. I've got a Gainsborough 10.5kW electric shower in my house...switch with red light (sorry...not sure on the correct term for that) is on the wall outside the showerroom. Recently I turned on the switch and the red light was a LOT dimmer than it used to be and when I...
