Stuck plastic cap on radiator valve, but radiator is hot

Forgot to say thanks for this, as I turned it until the point where it's 'off', but I haven't had to turn the heating on for the last 2 weeks so I hadn't fully tested it :)

Stuck plastic cap on radiator valve, but radiator is hot

Thanks for that. I bought one today, as I didn't have one before, and I've turned it either 2.5 or 3 times, I forget now, and it still comes on but isn't as hot as the radiator in the next room. Common sense would dictate that a few more turns would close it completely, but I thought I'd best...

Stuck plastic cap on radiator valve, but radiator is hot

Okay, I've removed the cap, which was very easy was a screwdriver, and I can see from the inside of it that it was meant to move and twist round the cog-wheel-looking things that can be seen. I tried turning the bit at the top which I presumed is what is meant to make the radiator's heat turn...

Stuck plastic cap on radiator valve, but radiator is hot

petit_pablo - Cheers, I'll give it a go. :D tincup - It's the capped-off end. I remember my builder once having to drain it from that end when they had to take the radiator off to paint behind it.

Stuck plastic cap on radiator valve, but radiator is hot

I've got a plastic cap that's stuck fast and which doesn't have a screw on the top with which I can turn it. I say it's stuck fast, but there's some movement give and take but nothing that actually alters the temperature. It's in a room which I rarely use but I've just started to put a piece...

    Unable to change downlight

After a google for how to do this, I only found answers telling me there was clips either side of the silver rim (which there aren't on this one) or that it can twist off anti-clockwise (but it didn't look like it wanted to give at all and I feel if I push it, it'll just break). I can't see...

Sime Friendly Format 80e - Topping up the pressure

The only 'tap' I have is the actual connections for the filling loop to hook onto the boiler. No worries on the expert front. I know little more than what I've posted in this thread :)

Sime Friendly Format 80e - Topping up the pressure

Hi, yep. If it helps, my filling loop looks like the one on the right-hand picture but I still don't know what to turn on the boiler to make the water exchange happen. I'm sure it was just one of the two things I mentioned as opposed to both. I forgot to mention that I managed to turn...

Sime Friendly Format 80e - Topping up the pressure

I've checked the FAQ but one thing about this is eluding me about the problem I have with my Sime Friendly Format 80E water boiler. The pressure's dropped to about 0.3-0.5 instead of the 1.0 it usually hovers around. I have a filling loop to top it up, so was going to try that before...
